MODL brings you a new measure of flexibility when it comes to optimizing instructor utilization.
Early MODL CPLS partners have learned that currently employers seem willing to allow synchronous training for desktop subjects for up to 3 hours during any one business day. The MODL (G)ATHER sessions are usually complete in 2 hours with additional “EAR” training scheduled ad-hoc throughout the day. Given this employer expectation, making the most of instructor utilization will require some consultative planning with clients.
Here are some suggested ways to optimize the scheduling of your valuable MCT resources:
- Dedicate a specific set of MCT’s to solely provide MODL courses
- Develop a consortium of CPLS providers in a network that can coordinate MODL training opportunities for a group of MCT’s.
- Consider flexing the class schedule to meet your needs. You can easily bring the “G” portion of live class time into a classroom, and allow for “E”, “A”, and “R” to occur after hours.
I’m sure you can appreciate that there are a variety of MODL Delivery Best Practices to optimize MODL instructor utilization. Here are a few to consider:
- Instructor runs daytime and evening classes
- Class 1: 9:00AM to 5:00PM daily
- Class 2: 6:00PM to 8:00PM twice a week for 5 weeks
- Instructor runs 2 interwoven 5-day classes
- Class 1: 8:00AM to 4:00PM daily
- Class 2: 10:00AM to 6:00PM daily
- Instructor runs multiple 5-week classes simultaneously
- Class 1: Every Monday
- Class 2: Every Tuesday, etc
- Instructor interleaves teach and preparation time for 2 weeks
- Class 1: 8:00AM to 12:00PM daily

- Other Utilization Best Practices
