MODL and MOC (Microsoft Official Curriculum) are brothers. Even though MOC is the older brother, MODL is showing some amazing signs of potential ... fresh new technology, innovative instructional design, and a spunky attitude.

As a CPLS, you have three choices for delivering Microsoft training:

MODL - Microsoft Official Distance Learning. MODL is a blended distance learning solution that combines facilitated virtual classroom sessions with self-paced Scenarios and E-Learning.

MOC - Microsoft Official Curriculum. MOC is traditional instructor-led classroom training.

MODL / MOC Hybrid - the best of both worlds. The MODL / MOC Hybrid solution combines the strengths of traditional instructor-led classroom training with the interactive flexibility of GEAR (Gather, Expand, Apply, and Review). This solution can be summed up as “MODL in the physical classroom”. In addition, this hybrid option allows you to connect remote students with a LIVE classroom via distance learning.

The table below highlights the strengths and weaknesses of these three Microsoft Official delivery solutions.

We have reviewed and deployed many modalities for delivering IT learning for remote customers. MODL balances the workplace demands and time constraints of typical IT professionals while adhering to adult learning theory. We’re excited to add it to our list of services for our customers and expect it to deliver far more value and learning retention than other modalities we’ve tried.
