Microsoft Certified Trainers (MCTs) are the premier technical and instructional experts in Microsoft products, technologies, and solutions. To ensure a superior learning experience for our customers, MCTs are the only individuals that Microsoft authorizes to deliver training that is based on Official Microsoft Learning Products or Microsoft Dynamics Learning Products for the MCT program.
The MCT community spans more than 140 countries and includes classroom and e-learning instructors, learning consultants, authors, conference presenters, user group leaders, and more. All are united by passion and talent for helping Microsoft customers and partners realize their full learning potential. MCTs meet high initial and on-going certification requirements and enjoy access to many benefits. Because the MODL instructional design is so unique and innovative, MCTs must become authorized to teach it. This is a great opportunity for MCTs to teach in a whole new way. MODL-authorized MCTs are some of the most talented and innovative instructors in the world.
MODL MCT Authorization is a fairly simple process – just three steps:
- Step 1: Get Trained – MCTs must first view four (4) 1-hour recordings at the MCT Town Hall. These recordings focus on the following topics: Distance Learning Overview, the MODL Course Experience, Fundamentals of Synchronous Facilitation, and Best Practices for Facilitating Distance Learning. In addition, you should familiarize yourself with the GEAR instructional MODL and student evolution curve.
- Step 2: Get Ready – Once you have completed step 1, you are ready to prepare for the 2-hour Teachback. First, view an actual MODL (G)ATHER session from one of your very own MCTs. Then, download the following MCT Materials from the MCT Download Center: Instructor Slides, Instructor Notes, MODL Student Workbook (in .PDF form), and Virtual Server Images for Demos. Also, you should practice delivering MODL interactions within Live Meeting.
- Step 3: Get Authorized – finally in step 3, you will record a 2-hour (G)ATHER session online and submit it to Microsoft Learning for evaluation. ITPro MCTs can teach MODL 2273BL and Developer MCTs have the option of using MODL 2785AL. Once the recording has been submitted, it will be score and a confirmation eMail will be sent back to you from Microsoft.
