Finally in step 3, you will record a 2-hour (G)ATHER session online and submit it to Microsoft Learning for evaluation. ITPro MCTs can teach MODL 2273BL and Developer MCTs have the option of using MODL 2785AL. Once the recording has been submitted, it will be score and a confirmation eMail will be sent to you from Microsoft.

Your teach back recording will be a 2-hour (G)ATHER session for Module 4-2 of either MODL 2273BL (IT Pro) or MODL 2785AL (Developer). You will need to recruit at least three (3) students to participate in your Live Meeting recording. Of course, MODL isn’t MODL without students!

Your teachback will be evaluated by a Board of Microsoft MODL Experts according to the following four (4) critical priorities:

  • Introduction to the Lesson – You should make sure to introduce the overall flow and intent of the lesson, build team dynamics, and encourage student discussion.
  • Main Delivery of the Lesson – You will need to demonstrate that you can manage several GEAR engagement types, including: whiteboarding, case studies, polling, and annotation. In addition, you must continually reference the Student Workbook and use open-ended questioning to keep the students involved and highly engaged in the lesson.
  • Wrap-up to the Lesson – You will need to wrap-up the lesson with appropriate signposting, review, and encourage student independence (i.e. demonstrate the “Student Evolution Curve”).
  • Management of the Environment – Overall, the three highest MODL MCT teaching priorities are: Pacing (you manage the pace of the class in a balanced manner), Annotation (you use the annotation tools continually to highlight key elements of the Live Meeting screen), and Verbal Instructions (you provide clear instructions for each activity and encourage student participation and questioning).

Distributing learning events over a longer period of time (e.g. 5 weeks) will dramatically increase learning retention compared to compressed learning events (e.g. 5 days) and the asynchronous events provide a self-paced environment which is better for reflection and application of learning at a rate comfortable to each participant.
