Q: Who can qualify as a MODL authorized MCT?

A: To become a MODL authorized MCT you must be a fully certified MCT in good standing. Also, you must submit a MODL MCT application (available on MCT Town Hall) and pass a MODL Teachback.

Q: Why do my instructors need additional training (re-authorization) in MODL?

A: MCTs need to gain experience and prove competency facilitating interactions and delivering training via a distance learning environment.

Q: How do I schedule my MODL bootcamp teachback?
Use the MODL section of the MCT Town Hall. It can be found at http://mct.llift.com.

Q: How will I be notified of my MODL teachback results?

A: Microsoft Learning will send your MODL teachback results within a few days of your bootcamp event. If you pass, you will also receive a Welcome Letter and an Access Code for the MODL Scenarios.

Q: Are there Any MODL MCTs Available?

A: There are 200 MODL Authorized MCTs available. More than half of them are independent consultants. You can locate authorized MCTs at http://www.distancelearningtrainers.com (coming soon).

Q: What is the MCT prep time required for (G)ATHER sessions

A: MCTs should plan to spend one hour preparing for each gather session. Activities include; scoring assessments, customizing slides, inserting demo shares, answering student questions and emails.

Q: Why get MCT certified?

A: There are at least five areas in which MCT certification provides exceptional value for the individual:

  • Professional growth
  • Industry leadership with the new modality for training
  • Gateway to the personal success of others
  • Improve personal quality of life
  • Expanded opportunities for income enhancement

Therefore the MODL-certified MCT becomes a “portable resource” that may be available to literally any CPLS around the globe!

Q: Where can I find a list of MODL authorized CPLS partners?

A: Check out the list of CPLS partners offering MODL classes at the official Microsoft MODL website.

Q: What if I’m an independent organization (MCT) and want to participate?

A: Based on feedback we’ve heard from some Learning Solutions partners, this is an exciting opportunity for independent MCT’s. Several plan on hiring independent MCT’s for Distance Learning to maximize their instructor utilization. We’ve also heard several independent MCT’s may plan to form their own “online Learning Solutions” and deliver solely Distance Learning courseware.

Q: Can I teach MODL in the classroom?

A: Yes. MODL is a new way of engaging with your students in a blended environment: (G)ather, (E)xpand, (A)pply, and (R)eceive Feedback. The Gather sessions can be delivered in the classroom or remotely via LiveMeeting (or other virtual classroom platform). Expand lessons are self-directed via eLearning, and Apply scenarios are delivered 24x7 via the web (and Microsoft partner Toolwire). Receive Feedback closes the loop with short assessment tests, automatically scored by the instructor.

Q: What are future plans for localization?

A: Localization of MODL will depend on regional pilots and uptake potential within each region. Initial regional pilots have been successful using English language content with local language instruction. This is largely due to the flexibility of the design and authorized MCT which enables the use of English content while running live sessions in native language.

Q: Who do I contact if I have MODL questions?

A: For questions about the MODL authorization process, please contact mctpm@microsoft.com. For information about the MCT Town Hall, please contact support@llift.com or events@llift.com.

It has been my experience that the universe of content in a classroom equals the square of the number of student experiences. This is called the BORG EFFECT!
